This study is based on authors such as Christensen (1997), Tidd and Bessant (2018), Dutton, Dukerich and Harquail (2014), among others, and aims to understand the principles, phases, and methodologies of disruptive innovation applied to entrepreneurship for small businesses, relating and verifying the applicability of these practices in the remodeling of a business or product, driving the company in the aggressive business market. The approach of this work focuses on qualitative bibliographic research with the purpose of demonstrating how micro-entrepreneurs can reinvent a business with the available methodologies and tools, such as the Business Model Canvas. The literature review has highlighted what is necessary to apply and develop the innovative process of a product or business, considering that there are a series of challenges and beliefs to be addressed by the involved parties, as collaboration and iteration are essential for the process to occur in a linear, constructive, and effective manner, considering the obstacles that will arise during the implementation of the proposed methodologies in this work.
