Abstract:
Blockchain technology, a disruptive innovation that initially emerged as the foundation of Bitcoin, is establishing itself as a transformative force in the field of law. Characterized by decentralization, immutability and transparency, blockchain offers a new paradigm for digital trust, enabling secure and traceable transactions without the need for traditional intermediaries. In the legal sphere, this has profound implications, promising to revolutionize everything from the execution of smart contracts to the management of property and copyright records. The ability to automate the execution of contracts, known as smart contracts, stands out as one of the most promising applications of blockchain in law. These self-executing contracts not only speed up transactions, reducing costs and time, but also minimize disputes by ensuring that contracted conditions are met in a transparent and immutable way. Furthermore, blockchain can improve the traceability and security of legal records, offering a robust solution against fraud and unauthorized changes. Using a mixed methodology, this research seeks to investigate contemporary social facts about the use of blockchain technology. Through a bibliographical review associated with observation, it aims to clarify that the integration of blockchain in the legal system is not without challenges. Issues of regulation, data privacy and jurisdiction require careful attention to harmonize technology capabilities with existing legal frameworks.
